Macrevo Privacy Policy

Macrevo ("we", "us") is a nutrition tracking and meal recommendation app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and authentication credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Profile data — age, sex, height, weight, activity level, goals, and daily calorie/protein targets you provide, used solely to calculate and personalize your nutrition targets and suggestions.
- Food preferences — dietary preferences, diet style, foods you dislike, and allergen selections, used to filter and personalize what we show you.
- Food diary data — meals you log, saved meals, pantry items, and serving choices, used to power your daily tracking and recommendations.
- Photos you submit — receipt photos you scan are processed to extract food items and are not retained as images after processing.
- Concierge requests — remaining macros, location text (city/ZIP you type), budget, and cravings you submit when requesting recommendations.
- Purchase state — subscription status via Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your payment card details; Apple processes all payments.
- Usage and diagnostics — feature usage counts and crash/error reports, used to fix problems and improve the app.
We do not collect precise GPS location without your permission; if you grant location access, it is used only to sort nearby restaurants by distance and is not stored on our servers.
How your data is processed
We use these service providers to run Macrevo:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting for your account and diary data.
- Anthropic — AI processing of text you type (e.g., "describe it" meal descriptions) and receipt photos you scan, to extract nutrition information. Submitted content is processed to fulfill your request.
- Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central, FatSecret — barcode and food database lookups. Only the barcode or food name is sent — never your identity.
- Apple and RevenueCat — subscription purchases and entitlement management.
- Sentry (crash and error reports) and PostHog (feature-usage analytics) — pseudonymous usage and stability data tied to a random account id, never to your email or to the text you type.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for advertising.
Health information
Your profile stats, food logs, and allergen selections are health-related information. We use them only to provide the app's features. Macrevo provides nutrition estimates and suggestions for informational purposes only — it is not medical advice, and allergen screening is based on detecting names and descriptions in menu data, which is incomplete. Always confirm allergens directly with the restaurant.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Account) or by emailing us at the address below. Deletion is permanent.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California and the EU), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
Macrevo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy here and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
